Now, Caterpillar can provide 797F large-scale mining vehicle which meets the emission requirements of EPA Tier 4 Final in the United States. Tier 4 has been tested on a prototype vehicle for 16 000 hours and has been used for 100 000 hours on a mass-produced vehicle. The results show that in most applications, it has stronger performance and higher fuel efficiency than Tier 2 797F.
797F Tier 4 Final is equipped with a tail gas treatment system with SCR (selective catalytic reduction). SCR reduces NO x emissions through DEF (diesel engine tail gas treatment fluid). Cat's mature exhaust system has been running for more than 20 million hours on site. In order to maintain high reliability, the proportion of new components in 797F post-treatment system is less than 11%. This system adopts modular design and parts are easy to purchase. Maintenance is convenient, its maintenance cycle is consistent with the truck maintenance cycle, and will not affect the normal operation of the truck.
797F, with a load of 363 tons, is the best-selling truck of the same class. Its engine is at C175-20 of 2983 kW. It can optimize the injection MAP chart for customers to reduce fuel consumption. 797F has the same level of leading load capacity and ramp performance, and the production capacity of Tier 4 Final is the same as that of Tier 2.
In addition to the same performance as Tier 2, Tier 4 Final 797F reduces the consumption cost of special liquid (diesel exhaust treatment fluid) in most applications. The fuel consumption of the new model is reduced, the engine life is longer and the maintenance cost is lower.
The low-emission 797F has been evaluated in many applications, including oil placer, deep mining pit copper mine, iron mine and coal mine. In these applications (including extreme ambient temperature conditions and 4877 m high altitude environment), it has exceeded the production target and showed strong engine performance.
